India Post GDS Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have passed Class 10th/Matriculation from a recognized Board or Institution.
Candidates must have studied and passed Mathematics and English as subjects in Class 10.
The candidate should also have knowledge of the local language of the postal circle for which they are applying, generally studied up to Class 10 level.
Candidates should have basic computer knowledge and cycling ability as prescribed in the notification. A basic computer training certificate of at least 60 days is generally required; candidates who have studied Computer as a subject in Class 10/12 or higher qualification may receive exemption as specified in the notification.
Age Limit
The prescribed age range is:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 40 Years
- Age Calculation Date: 21 September 2026
Age relaxation is applicable to reserved categories as per Government rules. The official recruitment information states that GDS candidates are engaged under the Department of Posts’ GDS Rules and are not regular Central Government employees.
